studies on the terms applicable to Polish nationals

  • non-Polish nationals who have been granted a permanent residence permit (settlement permit)
  • persons who hold refugee status granted by the Republic of Poland
  • foreigners who have been granted temporary protection in the territory of Poland
  • migrant workers who are citizens of the European Union (EU) or European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries and the members of their families if residing in the territory of Poland
  • foreigners who in the territory of Poland have been granted a permanent residence permit of the EU
  • non-Polish nationals who in the territory of Poland have been granted a temporary residence permit (residence permit for a fixed period) pursuant to some special circumstances, referred to in Articles: 127, 159 section 1, or Article 186 section 1 subsections 3 or 4 of the Act of 12 December 2013 on foreigners (legal basis given in the decision on issuance of a temporary residence permit)
  • non-Polish nationals who have been granted subsidiary protection in the territory of Poland
  • citizens of EU or EFTA countries and members of their families, having the right of permanent residence
  • holders of the valid Card of the Pole (they may also be admitted and study on other rules than applicable to Polish nationals, e.g. as Polish scholarship holders – see rules below)
  • citizens of EU or EFTA countries and members of their families, provided that they have financial resources necessary to cover cost of studying; such students are not entitled to receive a maintenance grant, special grant for disabled persons and assistance grants; they may receive only scholarships for outstanding learning achievements/sporting achievements (they may also be admitted and study on other rules than applicable to Polish nationals, e.g. as Polish scholarship holders – see rules below)
